On Sunday, November 11, 2018, on behalf of AGBU, longtime AGBU supporters and members, Dr. and Mrs. Hayk and Teresa Hayrapetian, hosted a fundraising reception at their home for the Armenian American Museum. Mrs. Hayrapetian is an active committee member of AGBU Hye Geen. In attendance were multiple Museum Committee Board Members including chair of the Executive Committee, Berdj Karapetian, the Architect Aram Alajajian, Armenian American Museum Board member and AGBU Western District Chair, Talin Yacoubian, and Glendale City Councilmember Paula Devine.
The fundraising reception was a huge success garnering commitments of five new founder circle members, and multiple donations that will be used towards the execution and completion of the project. Councilmember Paula Devine also made a personal donation.
“I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. and Mrs. Hayk and Teresa Hayrapetian for opening their home for this very important project, and my special thanks to Paula Devine for her steadfast support of the Museum and her donation,” expressed AGBU Western District Chair, Talin Yacoubian.
The Armenian American Museum project is heavily supported by the City of Glendale and the Armenian community at large. The museum will be a historic landmark for the Armenian people in the heart of Glendale, California. The fundraising reception was the first of many more fundraisers that will be hosted in homes around the greater Los Angeles area to raise awareness and help complete the massive project.
