AGBU AYA SFV-LA Scouts Give Back to the Community

December 11, 2018

With the holiday season fast-approaching, it’s been a busy couple of weekends for the AGBU AYA LA-SFV Boy and Girl Scout troops — one filled with wonder and education, and the other filled with love and the vital of lesson of giving back to our Armenian community.

First, our younger Boy and Girl Scouts enjoyed an incredible opportunity at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens! They camped overnight at the facility, enjoyed the annual Zoo Lights holiday display, a nighttime guided tour of the rest of the zoo, up-close experiences with various Zoo Ambassador animals, and so much more.

Further, as it is tradition, all AGBU AYA LA-SFV Boy and Girl Scout troop members had the privilege of visiting with and entertaining the elders at Ararat Home of Los Angeles in Mission Hills, CA with song, dance, and instrumental pieces — bringing much-appreciated Christmas cheer to our elderly community members!

Lastly, our scouting family once again happily collected and hand-delivered dozens of gifts to the 8th Annual Nataline Sarkisyan Foundation Toy Drive. These toys will help the kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Shriners Hospitals for Children who are unable to be with their families in the comfort of their own home during the holiday season.
