AGBU Children’s Book Club Writing Contest Application

Submission Guidelines: Extended Deadline Below

  • All contestants must complete the entry application.
  • A completed application and the original written piece must be submitted together
  • Electronic submissions may be e-mailed to:
    Hard copies may be mailed to: AGBU Summer Book Club Contest, 2495 E. Mountain St., Pasadena, CA 91104
  • All submissions must be received by Friday, November 30, 2018 at 5:00 PM PST. All submissions received after the 5:00 PM PST deadline on Friday, November 30, 2018 will not be considered.


All submissions will be graded on the following:

  • Ideas & Content
  • Organization & Flow
  • Voice
  • Word Choice & Sentence Fluency
  • Grammar, spelling and punctuation


  • Four winners will be announced in December here on the AGBU Western District website, ┬ánewsletter, and social media pages (Facebook & Instagram)
  • All winners will receive certificates


  • First place prize for each grade: Apple iPad

 Important Dates:

  • The contest will run until Friday, November 30, 2018 at 5:00 PM PST
  • Winners will be announced in September (Date TBD)
