On Friday, October 4, 2019, AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian’s school community came together to celebrate Armenian Cultural Month with a remarkable program, «Լոյսի Հայրենիք». This year our program honored the 150th birthday anniversaries of Komitas and Hovhannes Tumanyan.

The two-hour program led by the Visual and Performing Arts students showcased their various talents in recitation, dancing, singing and theatrical performances. Students from Armenian Theatre reenacted a scene from “Anoush”, while Choir sang music from Komitas.  The dance class students performed traditional Armenian dances outside in the quad.  After the assembly, parents and special guests in attendance were treated to a traditional Armenian feast presented by the amazing Parent Support Group. The smell of freshly baked lavash bread surrounded the campus inviting everyone to have a taste.

USArmenia network was present to document the memorable festivities.
